Blood Type Diet Recipes (Part 2: O & AB)

In the previous article, we’ve given you some meals and beverages ideas for A and B blood type. Now is the turn for O and AB blood type recipes. Enjoy!

O Blood Type

Turkey Burgers

• 1 pound ground turkey
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup chopped onion
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/3 cup ground oats
• 2 tablespoons chili sauce
• 2 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
• 2 teaspoons white wine Worcestershire sauce
• 1/4 teaspoons salt
• 1/8 teaspoon pepper
• 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender except oil.
2. Form mixture into four patties.
3. Cook patties in oil in medium skillet over medium flame for eight minutes or until patties are no longer pink in the center.
4. Turn patties halfway through cooking time.
5. Arrange on serving plate.
6. Burgers may also be cooked on your natural gas grill. Makes 4 servings.

Dandelion & Ginger Tea

• 1 dandelion tea bag (organic preferable), or loose tea
• 2 tablespoon ginger (fresh), sliced and crushed
• 1 dash turmeric to taste

Directions:

1. Boil distilled water.
2. Put tea bag (or loose in tea ball), ginger, and turmeric into cup.
3. Add boiling water.

Venison Meatballs with Miso Gravy

  Meatballs:
• 1/2 @ ground venison
• 1/4 cup grated romano cheese
• 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
• 1 beaten egg
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
• 1 tablespoon olive oil

  Gravy:
• 2 cups water
• 1 tablespoon wheat-free tamari
• 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder mixed with 1/2 cup water
• 2 tablespoons white miso

Directions:

1. Mix all meatball ingredients together and form into little balls.
2. Sauté in skillet in olive oil for 20 minutes.
3. Add water and tamari, cook 30 minutes more.
4. Combine arrowroot powder with water add to meatballs and cook until broth thickens slightly.
5. Scoop out 1/2 cup of broth and add miso, mixing well.
6. Re-add to meatballs but do not boil. Adjust seasonings. Serve over brown rice, quinoa, potatoes or millet. Makes 4-6 servings.

AB Blood Type

Baked Apple and Carrot Casserole

• 8 apples, each peeled, sliced cored
• 2/3 quart cooked carrot slices
• 1/2 cup brown sugar [or 1/4 cup agave]
• 2 2/3 tablespoons white spelt flour (or whole spelt flour)
• sea salt to taste
• 1 cup lemon juice

Directions:

1. Place half the apples in non-stick 2-qt baking dish and cover with half the carrots.
2. Mix brown sugar, flour, and salt and sprinkle half the mixture over the carrots.
3. Repeat layers and pour lemon juice over top.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves 6.
5. Cool and freeze in individual ziplocs. Thaw and reheat.

Eggs 'Florentine'

• 1 egg
• 1 handful (approx 1 cup) fresh spinach
• 3 Tablespoons chopped sweet onion
• Butter, ghee or Oil

Directions:

1. Sauté onion in butter in an 8-inch sauté pan until barely caramelized.
2. Add fresh spinach. Cover pan until just barely limp (only a few minutes).
3. Add 1 egg in center of pan.
4. Cover pan and cook egg until yolk is desired doneness.

Faux Orange Juice

• 3 to 4 parts 100% pineapple juice
• 1 part lemon juice concentrate

Directions:

Mix in glass and serve. This tastes very similar to orange juice!
