Latte or Tea, These Turmeric Drinks Are Just the Perfect Ideas


This orange-colored spice originated from India is part of the ginger family and has been a staple in Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian cooking for thousands of years.

As you already know, turmeric has so many healing properties and known as a natural anti-inflammatory compound to fight almost all modern diseases. Its benefits are primarily due to its active compound called curcumin.

Try these drink recipes made from turmeric for you to enjoy (and surely get its benefits for your body!):

Turmeric Latte
• 1 tablespoon fresh, grated turmeric root
• 2 teaspoons turmeric paste (mix two teaspoons of turmeric powder with 1 teaspoon of boiling water to make the paste -- you can store the extra in the fridge)
• 1 tablespoons coconut oil
• 1 cup coconut or almond milk (unsweetened)
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root (or 1 teaspoon ground)
• Pinch of black pepper (optional)
• Raw honey or sweetener (optional)

Directions:
1. Add the coconut milk or almond milk in a saucepan and warm it. It shouldn’t boil, just warm it up.
2. Add ginger, turmeric and cinnamon. Then, add coconut oil and heat until the mixture is melted.
3. Use a wire whisk or a blender to make foam, heat for a little while until frothy.
4. Add raw honey or sweetener to taste and sprinkle your latte with cinnamon.

Turmeric Tea

• 1 cup coconut milk
• 1 cup water
• 1 tablespoon ghee
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1 teaspoon turmeric (powder or grated root)

Directions:
1. Pour coconut milk and water into the saucepan and warm for 2 minutes
2. Add in butter, raw honey and turmeric powder for another 2 minutes
3. Stir and pour into glasses
