What Should We Eat Before a Workout? 7 Pre-Workout Snack Ideas to Energize You Up

Fueling your fitness with the proper nutrition will help to maximize the benefits of all your hard work at the gym. Grab these snacks 30-60 minutes in advance to give your body the fuel it needs to gain muscle, burn fat, and recover as best it can:

1. Greek yogurt with fruit
Greek yogurt is a protein powerhouse. Bowl in ¾ cup of Greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon granola and ½ cup of berries.

2. Protein creamcicle
Blend 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder, 1 cup orange juice, and 1 cup ice. What a treat!!

3. Dried fruit
Try ¼ cup serving of dried berries, apricots, and pineapple for a quick pre-workout munch.

4. Oatmeal
Serve oatmeal with a tablespoon of peanut butter and ½ cup of fruit.

5. Brown rice with salmon and veggie
Have 4-ounces of baked salmon, ¾ cup of cooked brown rice with 1 cup of roasted veggies for a longer workout.
