Mermaid Toast Recipe

Who doesn’t know mermaid toast? This food item created by Florida-based food stylist and author, Adeline Waugh, is the new most instagrammable thing on the internet nowadays.

The colorful spread of this ocean inspired toast is a mixture of blue-green algae powders and almond milk cream cheese, and sprinkled with edible golden flakes for an extra magical feel.

So, if you’re looking to replicate it at home, taken from, here’s the recipe of the magical Mermaid Toast:


  • 100g soft cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Bioglan Superfoods Tropical Spirulina
  • One slice of your favorite bread


  1. Take three bowls and split the cream cheese equally between them.
  2. In one bowl, add 1/4 tsp of Bioglan Superfoods Tropical Spirulina and mix together so it becomes a light turquoise.
  3. In the second bowl, add the rest of the Bioglan Superfoods Tropical Spirulina and mix together until it becomes a darker turquoise.
  4. Leave the third bowl natural, but make sure you give it a stir so it has a whipped texture.
  5. Toast your slice of bread and once golden brown, smear on the cream cheese mixtures, making sure you use a combination of all three colors to get a mermaid effect.
